UNICEF Lao PDR is seeking a qualified and experienced National Consultant for Child Wellbeing Advocacy to support the development and implementation of strategic advocacy initiatives that advance children's rights and wellbeing in Lao PDR.

 This four-month home-based consultancy offers an opportunity to contribute to high-level policy engagement and advocacy efforts focused on:

 

  • Prevention of Child Marriage
  • Improvement of Child Nutrition, with a strong emphasis on domestic financing and investment for children


Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in communication, public policy, political science, development studies, social sciences, public health, law, or a related field (advanced degree desirable).
  • A minimum of seven years of professional experience in advocacy, public policy, government relations, or strategic communications, including at least three years of experience in Lao PDR.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing advocacy or policy engagement strategies and producing policy-oriented materials for government audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of Lao PDR's governance and policy landscape.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Lao and English.

Previous experience working with the United Nations or international organizations, and familiarity with child protection, nutrition, or public finance for children, will be considered an asset.
