Phu Bia Mining Limited is a Lao-registered company, 90 per cent owned by PanAust, an Australian-headquartered copper and gold mining company, with the Government of Laos owning the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off; 9 days on, 5 days off; or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.


Reporting to the Transport Team Leader, the position is responsible for the efficient and effective provision of support services as related to general administration within the Logistics Transport Department.

 

The position requires the role to be undertaken in a well-planned and organised manner that will be detailed, filed appropriately, and communicated to customers. The position will be the first line contact for many visitors and staff.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Coordinate all Logistics Transport Department employees’ administrative requirements including, accommodation bookings, transport, leave requests.
  • Manage the Logistics Transport Department’s staff rosters.
  • Schedule weekly transport bus on route to-from Vientiane.
  • Maintain document control and filing systems.
  • To ensure all staff and visitors are booked on transport as required.
  • Ensure fuel is sufficient for boat and buses in each trip.
  • Monitoring, follow up goods, parcels, document sending between site to site.
  • Maintain Logistics Transport Department’s training and Induction scheduling.
  • Prepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly report summaries as required.
  • Report any misconduct, safety issues, etc. to supervisor immediately.
  • Provide R&R cover in the absence of staff as required.
  • Translate documents from Lao to English and English to Lao with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Prepare sensitive documents ensuring confidentiality is maintained and records are maintained.


To be successful in this role, you will require:

 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proven experience in administrative responsibilities
  • Possession of a valid BC Driver’s License
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities
  • Effective coordination, collaboration, and teamworking skills
