NTPC is currently looking for motivated and qualified candidates interested in the following position:

Position: Electrical Technician

Workplace: Sangkeo Village, Gnommalath District, Khammouane Province

Job Purpose: Responsible for maintaining electrical equipment and tools through preventive, condition-based, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and availability. Supports asset performance improvement, troubleshooting, emergency response, and proper use of tools and equipment in compliance with company procedures, QHSE requirements, and hydro-safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure personal safety and the safety of colleagues under supervision in compliance with company HSE requirements.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical improvements on electrical equipment, including generators, motors, circuit breakers, AC/DC systems, and earthing systems.
• Lead and coordinate maintenance activities, including inspections, testing, commissioning, installations, and overhaul outages.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting, documentation, and maintenance records in SAP.
• Participate in electrical design studies and implement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Review and update JHEA, maintain electrical qualifications, and ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and contractor safety standards.
• Perform electrical isolation activities and support flood management and critical maintenance operations when required.
• Plan and supervise maintenance projects, including work preparation, spare parts management, quality control, scheduling, budgeting, and outsourced maintenance activities.
• Monitor equipment condition, analyze maintenance data, investigate breakdowns, and recommend actions to improve reliability and reduce unplanned failures.
• Participate in the roster, on-duty during management period and respond to emergency incidents, troubleshooting, and plant restoration activities

Competency Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Electrotechnical Engineering or Industrial Engineering and Maintenance.
• 1–3 years of experience in hydropower, industrial electrical maintenance, or related industries.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, motors, generators, circuit breakers, PLC, SCADA, protection systems, and electrical maintenance practices.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and use testing instruments and engineering software.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, problem-solving, analytical, and safety-oriented mindset.
• Good communication, teamwork, time management, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and intermediate English skills.
