Phu Bia Mining Limited is a Lao-registered company, 90 per cent owned by PanAust, an Australian-headquartered copper and gold mining company, with the Government of Laos owning the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off; 9 days on, 5 days off; or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.

Reporting to the Senior Processing Specialist, your key objectives are to provide training and training support to processing personnel, including translating documents to ensure clear understanding for Lao personnel and to support their learning process. The role also involves acting as a language translation assistant for trainers and others who do not have Lao language skills. In addition, you will be responsible for compiling and maintaining a register of current procedures, developing new procedures for plant-related tasks, and reviewing and updating existing procedures on an annual basis to ensure they remain current.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conduct accurate translation of documents from English to Lao and Lao to English.
• Conduct accurate verbal translation of English to Lao and Lao to English
• Assist in the preparation of learning and assessments, material.
• Participate in all processing training departmental activities, including safety meetings and professional development opportunities as authorised by Process Safety and Training Supervisor.
• Deliver training to process personnel as required.
• Provide support team to ensure the isolation systems (Level 1, 2 and 3 isolator) is accurate and effectively implemented, including the use of the Permit Automizer.
• Manage and maintain training materials uploads on the Prospect Page and the SuccessFactors System.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

• A qualification in Mining, Mineral Processing, or a related field is required. 
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. 
• Prior experience in mineral processing will be an advantage. 
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English are required. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is essential.
