Phu Bia Mining Limited is a Lao-registered company, 90 per cent owned by PanAust, an Australian-headquartered copper and gold mining company, with the Government of Laos owning the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off; 9 days on, 5 days off; or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.

 

Reporting to the Senior Dispatch Supervisor. The key objective of FMS Dispatch Officer is to manage and run the Jigsaw system in the most safe and efficient manner to achieve Daily Production targets, maximise   mining fleet productivity through monitoring of equipment allocation and utilisation, maximise productivity by understanding delays and standby and ensuring these are minimised during the shift, clear and effective communication between Mining Operations, Processing, and   Mobile Maintenance, high quality handover between shifts and communicates production priorities and fleet/ location constraints, respond to emergencies in accordance with Mine Site Emergency Response Plan and Provide detail information in Jigsaw Daily reports for Mining Personnel when needed.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Monitor Jigsaw System to ensure equipment operates as directed, maximising efficient operations throughout the shift and report any fault with the system to Dispatch Supervisor.
  • Advise Mine Supervisors on optimal machine usage issues, productivity levels and ensuring pit traffic is effectively controlled throughout the shift.
  • Assist Pit Supervisors in monitoring personnel not utilised in equipment during the shift.
  • Organization and monitoring hot seating/Crib and fatigue breaks for truck operators.
  • Fatigue management procedure is understood and managed throughout the shift.
  • Fueling of truck and shovels and ensuring KPIs for truck refuelling and servicing is achieved.
  • Fueling of Diggers/Auxiliary equipment liaising with maintenance and supervisors to ensure minimal delays.
  • Line up procedures for end of shift. The shift change-out at Cattle Ramps is well managed.
  • Plan Dispatch Operations in advance, having contingency plans in place depending on equipment availability.
  • Monitor the blend and direct feed to the mill and reporting any blend (grade and throughput) issues immediately to Mining supervisors and Geo supervisors.
  • Data Quality: Verifying information keyed in by operators are correct (Ready, Delay, standby, down codes) and correct the Truck Time Allocation during the shift.
  • Monitor and investigate Jigsaw data errors and correct cause of error accordingly and recognize material types being loaded and change material types in system if necessary or instructed by Geo spotters in the field.

 

To be successful in this role, you will require:

 

  • Diploma in mining or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in mining operations is desirable.
  • Familiar with working in the pit field.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • Computer skills using standard Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
