Phu Bia Mining Limited is a Lao-registered company, 90 per cent owned by PanAust, an Australian-headquartered copper and gold mining company, with the Government of Laos owning the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.

Our modern mine camps provide great Lao, Asian and Western food, sport and recreational facilities and housekeeping services. Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off; 9 days on, 5 days off; or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.
Reporting to the MM Asset Management Superintendent, the Asset Management (AM) Advisor will play a key role in the mobile maintenance team by providing effective tactical and strategic guidance to support Mobile Asset Management activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and deploy maintenance strategies and tactics in collaboration with the Asset Management Superintendent and Maintenance Manager to achieve business targets and improve equipment reliability and cost efficiency through preventative and predictive maintenance practices.
- Lead the planning, development, implementation, and review of maintenance programs and performance based on best practices.
- Manage asset performance, cost control, and system effectiveness using SAP and AMT4SAP systems.
- Work closely with all departments, particularly PKM/BHX Mining and Maintenance Operations, to ensure asset performance and operating cost targets are achieved efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Promote and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, equipment availability, operational performance, and cost efficiencies.
- Support the development of a safe workplace, people capability, quality workmanship, and effective execution of PBM asset management strategies and processes.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the line manager, including acting as Asset Management Superintendent and/or Senior AM Advisor when required.
- Prepare/update Month end report.
- data collection and run life cycle cost analysis (LCCA).
- CEA preparation and submission.
- Coordinate with supply chain regarding sourcing request.
- Liaise with Government relationship team (GR), Supply team regarding Asset disposal.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Mobile Equipment or Planning is required, with experience in Financial Analysis considered an advantage.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- A diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mobile Equipment, Auto Electrical, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and with working knowledge of PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
- Knowledge of SAP is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
