LIFS was established in 2025 under the New Forests Tropical Asia Forest Fund 2 (TAFF2) which is managed by New Forests Asia (Singapore) Pte Ltd. LIFS provides integrated management-services to client companies within the TAFF2 portfolio.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Sales and Marketing Manager to play a highly visible, hands-on role at the intersection of finance, operations, and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Based in Vientiane, you will develop and execute the sales and marketing strategy for Mekong Timber Plantations (MTP) and Burapha Agro-Forestry, strategically positioning a portfolio that includes FSC and non-FSC certified plywood and veneer, logs, woody biomass, and carbon credits.
The role focuses on maximizing market reach—both domestically and internationally—while driving revenue growth and profitability through data-driven decision-making and strong customer engagement.
This is a rare opportunity to work directly with executive and senior leaders, deliver real impact in a private-equity-backed forestry platform, and gain exposure to emerging and frontier markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans for plywood, veneer, logs, woody biomass, and carbon credit products.
- Identify new market opportunities and grow the customer base across domestic and international markets.
- Establish pricing strategies and lead contract negotiations to optimize revenue and margins.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, distributors, and key market stakeholders.
- Conduct regular market analysis and competitor benchmarking to guide product positioning and sales strategy.
- Forecast demand and collaborate with operational teams to ensure alignment between product availability, quality specifications, and market expectations.
- Promote products in alignment with ESG goals, FSC certification requirements, and IFC Performance Standards.
- Lead and develop a small sales and marketing team, fostering a high-performance, accountable culture.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to build brand visibility and market intelligence.

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical capability, commercial judgement, and intellectual hunger, and who is comfortable working locally in Vientiane and dealing with local and Singapore-based stakeholders.
Qualifications / Licences
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Proven experience in sales and marketing within the timber industry.
- Knowledge of plywood and veneer products (including FSC-certified) and markets, with a focus on Southeast Asia and Europe.
- Experience with international markets, including contract negotiation, export logistics, and global trade practices.
- Strong understanding of pricing models, margin management, and sales forecasting.
- Familiarity with ESG principles, sustainability standards (FSC, IFC), and carbon market mechanisms.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans and translate them into actionable outcomes.
- Experience managing small teams and developing individual capabilities and performance.
