Phu Bia Mining Limited is a Lao-registered company, 90 per cent owned by PanAust, an Australian-headquartered copper and gold mining company, with the Government of Laos owning the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off; 9 days on, 5 days off; or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.

Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer and QA & Engineering Superintendent, the Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the TSF Project Engineer Team to design, planning, implementation, execution, inspection and monitoring of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control tasks related to the TSFs construction at PKM and BHX.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Communicate with the TSF Construction Superintendents /QA-QC and Monitoring Superintendent and TSF Superintendent to integrate the TSF Construction Schedule and QA/QC Inspection and Testing Plan.
• Create internal design by SURPAC or Auto CAD drawings for Technical Queries for TSF Construction.
• Develop methodology to improve the generation and reporting of QA/QC data.
• Key role to provide As-Built drawings for TSF Construction projects.
• Production of quality 3D drawings to support department construction projects as require.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineer, Mining Engineer, Architect, or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with design, drawing and Civil AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Familiar with the use of MS Excel function and Land development software system would be advantage.
• Excellent inter-personnel skills
