Our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and our Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation in Laos are both delivering strong production and cost performances and are targeted to reach peak production over the next few years. Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.

Reporting to the Resource Geologist Superintendent role, this role is the key objective of the Database Assistant is to is to carry out a control of the Acquire geological database to maintain the error-free, integrity and security of the geological and assay database. Troubleshoot database errors and SQL database management.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Validate and enter the geological data into SQL based data management system (Acquire) and Imago Workspace in an efficient and timely manner.
• Prepare and provide the geological data from VTE, PBM, PKM, and other projects for the stakeholders, including Exploration, Mine Geology, MRD, Geotech/hydro, Laboratory.
• Provide direct hands-on first level technical support, investigation, and troubleshooting of database related issues to achieve seamless database transfer.
• Complete well written reports (monthly and other reports as required) in a timely manner.
• Assist the Resource Geologist in the data preparation of Mineral Resource Estimate.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

• Bachelor in Geology, IT or related field.
• Proficient with SQL and other data management software (preferably acQuire).
• At least of 3 - 5 years’ experience in similar role or equivalent. Candidate with a mining and exploration background is a plus.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop and Microsoft Windows Server Environment.
• Ability to resolve complex issues.
• With initiative and reliable with deadlines.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision within a team environment.
• Resourceful and detail-oriented.
• Excellent communication skills both in Lao and English Languages.
