Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.

Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the Civil Engineer is responsible for the Civil Design and Cost Estimate function on P&E Department. Preparation of design calculation, design drawing, accurate cost estimates for department and FEED projects (OPEX and CAPEX), support engineering knowledge for project work, including QA/QC inspection. Implement and ensure engineering processes are complied with PBM’s standard design and specification. The Civil Engineer will be required periodically to fulfil duties as Engineering Superintendent.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the Civil Engineering team and coordinate with Senior Mechanical and Senior Electrical Engineers.
• Support the Engineering Superintendent in Civil design works.
• Prepare calculation and analysis data sheets for Civil works.
• Develop conceptual designs, engineering specifications, and installation drawings for Civil projects.
• Prepare “As-Built Drawings,” scope of work, material take-off, BOQ, and pricing.
• Perform structural analysis and select appropriate construction materials.
• Work closely with PBM (Phu Bia Mining Limited) Operations to clarify and define scopes of work.
• Collaborate with external consultants to ensure effective communication and coordination.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and contractors to update construction and as-built drawings.
• Ensure approved changes are updated in the control systems promptly, reflecting project scope and trends.
• Coach and develop Civil Engineering team members to reach their full potential.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil design or construction work, preferably in mining or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering design, structural analysis, and material selection.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, 3D or similar design software.
• Good understanding of project planning, BOQ preparation, and cost estimation.
• Strong coordination and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.
• Good English communication skills (both written and spoken).
