Payroll Officer (Casual - 6 months)

Phu Bia Mining Limited is a Lao-registered company, 90 per cent owned by PanAust, an Australian-headquartered copper and gold mining company, with the Government of Laos owning the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off; 9 days on, 5 days off; or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, this role will work closely with payroll team

Your responsibilities will include:

• Process casual labor payment on time around 15th -22nd of the month 
• Send out the monthly timesheet and follow up timesheet with different departments 
• Summary the return timesheet and calculate personal income tax 
• Prepare casual labor payroll report for approval 
• Summary SSO and PIT report to be paid to the government 
• Declare personal income tax in TaxRIS 
• Follow up the Personal Income Tax Declaration from different provinces 
• The duration of this work is on a day-by-day basis. 

To be successful in this role, you will require:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, English or Business Administration field
• Proven work experience as an Accounting and Payroll is preferred
• Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular 
• Ability to prioritize work
• Self-motivated individual with effective organizational skills.
