This is an exciting time to join PanAust and our subsidiary company, Phu Bia Mining in Laos. Our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and our Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation in Laos are both delivering strong production and cost performances and are targeted to reach peak production over the next few years. In addition, the PanAust Group is progressing well in its Stage 1 Feasibility Study of the newly acquired Frieda River Copper Project in PNG

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.
Reporting to the Senior Loss Prevention Superintendent, the key objective of the Loss Prevention Trainer is to design, deliver, and evaluate training programs that enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of Loss Prevention personnel. This role plays a vital part in ensuring safety, security, and compliance across all PBM operations. A key focus of this role is to mentor and supervise Loss Prevention Officers to maintain 24/7 operational support, provide visible leadership in security and safety matters, and ensure alignment with PBM standards and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design and implement training modules for onboarding and ongoing staff development
- Conduct classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions
- Develop and facilitate scenario-based drills and emergency response simulations
- Deliver “in-post” training and refresher courses for Loss Prevention Officers in the field
- Provide site inductions for Loss Prevention personnel deployed to operations
- Create, review, and update training materials, manuals, and SOPs
- Assess trainee performance through tests, evaluations, and feedback, and address skills gaps
- Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and compliance documentation
- Actively participate in toolbox and safety meetings, providing presentations or feedback
- Audit workplace areas, report security concerns, and provide leadership to other departments
- Participate in emergency drills and exercises in a security capacity
- Maintain a strong frontline presence to support workforce engagement in safety and security
- Act as Loss Prevention Supervisor in their absence
- Carry out other tasks as determined by the Loss Prevention Superintendent
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Diploma in Mining, Exploration, Prospecting, or a related field
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in Security or a related discipline
- Competency in using office applications, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite
- Fundamental verbal and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a proactive, hands-on approach
- The ability to demonstrate confidence, assertiveness, and the courage to raise concerns or speak up when necessary
