This is an exciting time to join PanAust and our subsidiary company, Phu Bia Mining in Laos. Our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and our Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation in Laos are both delivering strong production and cost performances and are targeted to reach peak production over the next few years. In addition, the PanAust Group is progressing well in its Stage 1 Feasibility Study of the newly acquired Frieda River Copper Project in PNG.

We offer many different career opportunities at our mine and exploration sites and in our Vientiane office; and as an employer who values diversity, we encourage women to apply for all available positions.  Our modern mine camps provide great Lao, Asian and Western food, sport and recreational facilities and housekeeping services. Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.

 

Under the supervision of the Reliability & CM Supervisor, you will support the monitoring and maintenance of mobile and fixed equipment, ensuring reliable and efficient operation while contributing to continuous improvement and performance reporting.


Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Monitor and track mobile equipment performance to ensure effective maintenance strategies (PCR, NDT, routine services).
  • Maintain accurate reliability data and downtime records, and prepare KPI reports (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment/component failures and recommend preventive solutions.
  • Support condition monitoring programs, including oil and filter analysis, magnetic plug checks, VIMS (CAT), VHMS (Komatsu) data and Jigsaw view to monitor mobile equipment.
  • Manage and review preventive maintenance tasks and plans in SAP.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Conduct inspections, participate in loss elimination exercises, and contribute to maintenance strategy and spare reviews.
  • Provide reliability and condition monitoring support to Fixed Plant when required.

 

To be successful in this role, you will require:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with mobile equipment and spare parts; experience with fixed plant equipment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is essential.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Lao LV driving license is required, as most of the job involves traveling to remote sites.
