This is an exciting time to join PanAust and our subsidiary company, Phu Bia Mining in Laos. Our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and our Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation in Laos are both delivering strong production and cost performances and are targeted to reach peak production over the next few years. In addition, the PanAust Group is progressing well in its Stage 1 Feasibility Study of the newly acquired Frieda River Copper Project in PNG

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.


Reporting to the Livelihood Supervisor, this position is under the guidance and supervision of supervisors/managers to ensure that the educational development projects funded by Phu Bia Mining within the host communities at our operations in PKM and BHX are implemented and delivered in line with the Lao educational development policies, standards and systems in the Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES). By ensuring that all projects are inclusively planning, coordinating, liaising, and excusing with the schools in the target communities, village authorities, district, and provincial related offices in the sustainable manner. As well as ensuing all daily administrative, communications and coordination, including the reporting requires with our key partners in the province, district and communities are regularly carry-out and produced to supporting the departmental for a smooth operating and effectively managing the community development projects in Xaysomboun Province.


Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring & evaluation and reporting of all projects in the educational development sector. 
  • Conducting the Monthly and Quarterly Meetings for planning and reporting the progresses of activities and projects with communities, district, and province regularly basic (If possible, inclusively join with others sector as well for common understanding and promoting the best-practices and lesion learnt amongst our key stakeholders in XSB province). Includes, organizing the trainings, workshops and other related events required for education sector. 
  • Working closely with local communities, district and provincial authorises to implement all projects and activities in the approved plans (annal, quarterly and monthly) with acceptable results and outcomes for reflecting the sustainable development for the education sector.
  • Facilitate and conduct the Education Need Assessment (ENAs) to review, identify and analyse the critical priority projects and development required within the education sector to includes them in the policy, strategy, and planning.
  • Ensure the Monthly and Quarterly budget requests are prepared and submitted to support the implementation of activities and projects in timely manner.
  • Assisting the managers/supervisors to develop and prepare the projects and budgets to includes them on annual plan for education sector.
  • Provided a regularly updates and reporting progresses of all activities and projects to supervisors and managers by weekly, monthly, and quarterly as required.  
  • Ensure all data, information, and documentations are in place and available when required.

 

To be successful in this role, you will require:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree qualification or higher degree in Education / Development Community or related 
  • Experience working for Education Development and Livelihood at least 3 years
  • Experience in working with government counterparts at district and provincial level 
  • Good communication skills both in Lao and English Languages  
  • Microsoft word & Excel using skill. 
  • Excellent interpersonal or teamwork skills & be able to work as under pressure.
  • Be able to drive & have light vehicle driving license for B
