PanAust Limited is an Australian-headquartered copper and gold producer in Laos, with pre-development and exploration assets in Laos, Myanmar and Papua New Guinea (PNG). The Company is focused on a sustainable business model associated with the production and sale of copper and gold, delivery of production goals and growth.
In Laos, PanAust owns a 90 per cent interest in the Lao-registered company, Phu Bia Mining. The Government of Laos owns the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates PanAust Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation.

Our modern mine camps provide great Lao, Asian and Western food, sport and recreational facilities and housekeeping services. Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.
Under the guidance of community supervisor, superintendent, manager to ensure that all current and future projects related to community relations in the target communities are proceeded in line with procedures, standards, policies, and PBM’s strategy, mission, and value. Always recognized, promoted, and supported a safety procedure and PBM cultural behaviors, includes maintaining positive relations with local communities and stakeholders. Ready to be delegated and received the order tasks and works based on the appointment and assignment of direct report and higher position to support the business needs and requirements of PBM’s objectives and missions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reporting to the PKM Community Relations Supervisor, the Senior Community Relations Officer is responsible for assisting and proceeding in resolving grievance received from local communities related at Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and extension, this challenging role involves field investigation, root-cause analysis, problem solving, mediation and close interaction with local communities.
- Function as company ambassador, Bridget connecting, assist in maintaining positive relations between the company and local communities.
- Developing and supporting positive relations between PBM and local stakeholder engagements based on respect, mutual understanding, and trust.
- Encouraging community policies, standards, procedures, forms, field memo (s) such as Chance Finds of Sites and Artifacts, Land Clearance Permit, Grievance Form, local communities, government relations and other social requirements, social awareness, investigations, events, significant incidents, and information management in accordance with PBM’s policies.
- Maintaining positive relations with local villages such as Ban Nam Mo, Ban Nam Gnone, and other villages as required to support routine business activities.
- Other works and tasks required by PBM.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Bachelor’s degree in Community and Rural Development, Laws or related field
- Enjoy building relationships with key customers/stakeholders
- Ability to work well within a busy, fast paced environment
- Good communication skill both in Lao and English Languages
- Competency in MS Office suite
- Have driving license AB type
- Can work on remote areas
- Positive relationship friendly football with local communities, Government of Laos Organizations, & other key stakeholders.
