Re-advertise of Soil Analysis Consultant

1. Background

Understanding the physical and chemical characteristics of the soil is crucial for sustainable management and efficient land use. By assisting in the identification of nutrient deficiencies and content, it enables the proper application of organic fertilizers to increase crop productivity. Soil analysis evaluates the pH, salinity, texture, and other characteristics of the soil to determine its characteristics for suitable and diverse land use for construction, nature-positive agriculture, and/or conservation. Understanding soil water retention and drainage further aids in planning irrigation and preventing erosion or flooding. Overall, soil analysis is a valuable tool for making informed decisions that protect soil health and enhance land use efficiency.

1. Aim of consultancy

• To assess the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of the soil.
• Identify the factors that degrade soil quality and reduce productivity
• Identify suitable location for collecting soil samples for each critical land use within the village (cropland, rice paddy, upland/elevated agricultural land, plantation, forestland, and other lands)
• Provide recommendations for improving soil quality through management practices to enhance productivity and sustainability, transition towards nature-based solutions
