IT Infrastructure Engineer

Report to: COO

Purpose of the position

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's core technology infrastructure. This role ensures optimal performance, security, and reliability of servers, networks, cloud platforms, and related systems while supporting business operations and growth initiatives. The position requires both strategic planning and hands-on technical expertise to deliver scalable infrastructure solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management & Maintenance

• Design a national traffic management network (including core data center, video network, e-government intranet, edge nodes, public network access, etc.), deploy VPN, WAF, IPS, ensure the security data sharing of government intranet and public network, and design active-active data center network synchronization
• Manage the operation and maintenance management of network systems, monitor network status in real time (Zabbix/SNMP), establish and manage localized operation and maintenance teams and capabilities, operation and maintenance specifications and standards, ensure system availability, quickly solve system problems, and write fault reports and make improvement suggestions.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions with regular testing protocols

Security Compliance

• Implement and maintain security best practices including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management to meet the requirement of level 3 network security.
• Conduct regular security assessments and coordinate remediation efforts
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.)
• Manage security tools including SIEM, endpoint protection, and network security appliances

Technical Support Collaboration

• Participate in the selection and configuration of hardware equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls
• Provide escalated technical support for complex infrastructure issues
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure infrastructure supports application requirements
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical system support
• Lead infrastructure projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering or a related field.
• Minumum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure or system administration roles, preferably on large-scale enterprise projects or government network architecture.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, firewalls, VPNs), Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (Huawei, AWS, Azure).
• Familiar with the equipment configuration of major network equipment suppliers in the industry such as Cisco, Huawei, and H3C, familiar with the basic knowledge of cloud platform, big data, and have practical experience in SDN.
• Solid experience with monitoring tools, incident management systems, and ITIL-based support practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience in handling high-severity infrastructure incidents.
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible) is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS SysOps, or Cisco CCNA/CCNP are highly desirable.
