Mekong River Commission

 

The Mekong River Commission (MRC) is the only inter-governmental agency that works directly with the governments of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand, and Vietnam on joint management of shared water resources and sustainable development of the Mekong River. 

 

As a regional facilitating and advisory body governed by water and environment ministers of the four countries, the MRC aims to ensure that the Mekong water is managed and developed in the most efficient and sustainable manner—that mutually benefits all Member Countries and minimises harmful effects on people and the environment in the Lower Mekong River Basin.

 

As the MRC Secretariat works extensively with a diverse range of documents, including reports, briefs, and handbooks, the Secretariat in Vientiane, Lao PDR, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of:


Multimedia Assistant


Consultant Type:  Individual Consultant 

Work location:  MRC Secretariat, Vientiane

Division:  Office of the Chief Executive Officer

Duration/Contract type:  12 Months (July 2025 – June 2026) with a possible extension, subject to the budget availability

Consultancy Type:  Service Contract

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field.
  • 2 years of relevant professional experience in communications, digital media, graphic design, multimedia production, public information or a related field.
  • Excellent in written and spoken English.
  • Experience in preparation of communication/social media campaigns.
  • Experience in managing social media accounts and websites. 
  • Knowledge on graphic design and video production applications. 
  • Having basic photography skills. 
  • Working experience in relevant international organizations and/or private sectors is an asset. 
  • Familiarity with MRC procedures and working methods is an asset.
  • Microsoft Office, Windows-based applications, integrated web-based management systems, design and video editing applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier, After Effects, Corel etc. 
  • Immediate availability will be considered an advantage.
