PanAust Limited is an Australian-headquartered copper and gold producer in Laos, with pre-development and exploration assets in Laos, Myanmar and Papua New Guinea (PNG). The Company is focused on a sustainable business model associated with the production and sale of copper and gold, delivery of production goals and growth.


In Laos, PanAust owns a 90 per cent interest in the Lao-registered company, Phu Bia Mining. The Government of Laos owns the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates PanAust Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation.

Our modern mine camps provide great Lao, Asian and Western food, sport and recreational facilities and housekeeping services. Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.


Reporting to the Environment Supervisor – Services in your allocated section, you will lead an experienced team of Environment Officer and Technicians to implement and manage a variety of environmental tasks ranging from environmental monitoring, rehabilitation, waste management, and other operational support activities at our operations.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure rehabilitation activities have been carried out as plan such as rehibition area glass/tree planting, fertilizing, fence line maintenance.
  • Supporting on setting rehabilitation area such as Land Clearance permit, area register, material order, scheduling, and implementation of the plan.
  • Ensure nursery maintenance to support the rehabilitation programs, which include general maintenance of seedling, inventory of material, equipment, quantity, and species of plants.
  • Ensure management of rehabilitation program such as tree planting, seeding sowing and hydroseeding to complete as plan as in a safe manner.
  • Conduct rehab monitoring and supporting the rehabilitation assessment annual programs.
  • Leading environment casual labor to complete daily routine activities.
  • Leading team for harvesting of seed for germination.
  • Helping environment support on erosion and remediation work up on request.
  • Ensure maintenance of database to support reporting for monthly and other report such as annual rehabilitation assessment.


To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Environmental Science, or Forestry field.
  • Some years of experience in plant propagation, phenology, mine related rehabilitation activities and environment management will be highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of GIS and mapping tools.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Lao.
  • Good computer skills in using Microsoft Office suite and data analysis.
