In Lao PDR, GIZ is currently implementing a large number of projects focusing on rural development, conservation of nature and natural resources as well as sustainable economic development. The Climate Protection through Avoid Deforestation and Implementation of the Governance, Forest Landscape and Livelihoods (CliPAD/I-GFLL) Project, a part of the Lao-German Cooperation and commissioned by German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and financially supported by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), is currently seeking one (1) qualified Laotian candidate for the position of Component Leader Project Management and Coordination, based in Vientiane Capital starting as soon as possible until 31.12.2026.


MAIN TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversees general project management and provide supports to project director in administrative and operational tasks.
  • Manages stakeholder engagement and communication on project management and ad-ministrative processes, establishes and maintains productive working relationships with relevant Government agencies and cooperation partners.
  • Focal point for project event management in coordination with project management team and external partners, oversees logistics, design and preparation for project missions, workshops, meetings, and other events.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and standardization as well as develops and implements project management best practices.
  • Direct support to the international experts and their dependents on acceptance letters, stay permit and visas.
  • Supervises and manages project drivers in coordination with administration team and provincial coordinators.
  • Coordinates cross-functional processes and office operations in compliance with GIZ standards.


GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or equivalent, preferably in economics, finance, business administration, social or political sciences or similar, (Master’s degree is desirable).
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in a comparable position, with 5 years professional experience in project management and business administration.
  • At least 3 year’s experience in leadership and management skills.
  • Experience with information and communication technologies (incl. MS Office).
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate with project staff and project partners.
  • Excellent organizational, strategic, and communication skills in an intercultural context, with the ability to translate complex issues into actionable solutions.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm.
  • High social competence with strong interpersonal skills; a reliable team player who brings fresh perspectives and foster agile working principles.
  • Good networking skills and good cooperation management, also with high-ranking partners and institutions in the political environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Lao.
