MAG Lao PDR
INGO / International Non-Governmental Organization
ຄົນຕິດຕາມ:
MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is a humanitarian organization working to clear landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and other remnants of conflict to save lives and build safer futures. MAG has been operational in Lao PDR since 1994, supporting the national goal to reduce the impact of UXO contamination on communities and to contribute to the country’s development.
Lao PDR is the most heavily bombed country per capita in the world. Over 270 million cluster munitions were dropped during the Vietnam War era, and an estimated 80 million failed to explode. MAG works in partnership with the Lao National Regulatory Authority (NRA), the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, and other national stakeholders to survey and clear land, educate communities about risks, and support safe livelihoods.
