In Laos, PanAust owns a 90 per cent interest in the Lao-registered company, Phu Bia Mining. The Government of Laos owns the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates PanAust Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation.

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.
Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, the Environment Supervisor – Data & Compliance is responsible for managing and maintaining PBM’s environmental monitoring database and ensuring compliance reporting to internal stakeholders and relevant government authorities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure the environmental monitoring database (MonitorPro, Cloud-based services for online monitoring, etc.) are well manage, easily accessible, clear, secure, accurate, reliable, and up to date with QA/QC requirement for all PBM Operations.
- Audits environmental monitoring data in order to ensure all unnecessary/ incorrect data have been removed and ensure all necessary data is being capture.
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly QA/QC activities in accordance with PBM standards.
- Prepare the regular information in statistic/ tables or technical proficient data report for internal and external stakeholders, including the Environmental Compliance Report to Government of Laos (MoNRE, PoNRE, etc) in all PBM Operations as required.
- Act as point of contact for local communities and Gol relation regarding environmental engagement (e.g. GoL site visit, lead TSF monthly inspection, annual MoNRE site inspection, environment community awareness, cerebration of the world environment days’, etc)
- Assist the GoL engagement/workshop arrangement to support environment activities when required.
- Assist undertaking on all related PBM’s Environment Monitoring Programs as required.
- Developing and maintaining the GIS data for the environmental monitoring maps as required.
- Ensures that GoL and local community complaints or inquiries are properly addressed to attempt to resolve any issues related PBM operations.
- Report any issues regarding environment monitoring compliance and concerns.
- Assist regularly agency auditors during audits to ensure compliance and initiate corrective actions.
- Assure that policies, programs, standard of performance and approved objectives related to environment monitoring are adhered to.
- Participate in investigation on any incident relate to environment monitoring and management.
- All other administration duties assigned by the employee’s supervisor appointed by the company.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in environmental monitoring and database management
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Lao and English (spoken and written)
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office; experience with database systems or MonitorPro is a plus
- Valid driver's license and medically fit for work.
