This is an exciting time to join PanAust and our subsidiary company, Phu Bia Mining in Laos. Our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and our Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation in Laos are both delivering strong production and cost performances and are targeted to reach peak production over the next few years. In addition, the PanAust Group is progressing well in its Stage 1 Feasibility Study of the newly acquired Frieda River Copper Project in PNG.

Reporting to the Livelihood Superintendent, you assist the superintendent and manager for the effective implementation of PBM-Community Development Programs in the target communities together with stakeholders in the province and district in the sustainability and timely manner against the approved annual plans and indicators by PBM and XSB Province, in line with the procedure, standard, policy and strategy in PBM. With always, minimized and promoted a safety cultures and behaviours of the company amongst them, included maintain positive relations with communities and all stakeholders.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Pro-active in planning and implementing all respected activities and projects in the host communities together with team and local government partners in Xaysomboun Province.
  • Build and maintain good relationships and partnerships with the local communities and government partners in the target districts and Xaysomboun Province.
  • Lead, supervise and support senior community development officers to ensure the community development projects - includes, but will not be limited to the education, health, infrastructure sectors, etc. are effective delivered in timely and sustainability manner.
  • Facilitate and organize the monthly and quality meetings with related district and provincial authorities.
  • Assisting the superintendent and department manage to cooperate and coordinate with Provincial and District and Provincial Management Committee in Xaysomboun Province, and host communities on projects planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.
  • Ensuring that database of all respected activities and projects are recorded and updates regularly basis.
  • Assist superintendent and department manager developing any tools and materials for the projects and to promote.


To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Education: At least Bachelor’s degree in a related field or International Relations, etc.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience on rural and integrated community development projects or in a similar roles.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge and skills on education, community health care, infrastructure, etc. with able to coordinate, collaborate, and deliver the effective projects and activities with key stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills both in Lao & English
  • Able to supervising the team and team player
