The German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation (DGRV) is the national umbrella organisation and top-level auditing federation of the German cooperative sector. More than 5.100 cooperative enterprises are part of our cooperative system in different sectors. Approximately 19,3 million members are united in the German cooperative sector within DGRV. For many years, the DGRV, as a specialist organisation, has incorporated their expertise of the cooperative system into German development cooperation.

The conducted projects are part of the general activities of the DGRV program, funded by BMZ, to support the cooperative development in South East Asia and specifically in Lao PDR. Since 2013 the project supports the Lao Government to support the development of cooperative systems. The implementing partners are Bank of Lao PDR, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Department of Agriculture Extension and Cooperatives (DAEC) and University Na Bong.
