POSITION: PACKAGING LINE LEADER
DEPARTMENT: PRODUCTION
LOCATION: VIENTIANE BREWERY PLANT
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee specific packaging lines (Bottle, Can, or a mix).
- Ensure safe operation meeting legal and group standards.
- Manage processes and personnel from beverage receipt to finished pallets.
- Achieve production plans in line with quality, cost, and service criteria.
- Apply Carlsberg standard methods and processes.
- Contribute to packaging strategy and objectives.
- Manage internal and external resources.
- Lead area teams, ensuring clear roles and contributions.
- Maintain skills matrices, training plans, and records.
- Manage personnel resources, recognize good performance, and maintain discipline.
- Conduct performance reviews and ensure compliance with HSE, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Communicate changes effectively to reduce risks and resistance.
- Oversee external contractors and recognize effective practices.
- Manage area Production Management Systems, meetings, and reporting systems following group standards.
- Oversee escalation processes, daily Gemba walks, and process confirmations.
- Ensure compliance with packaging standards through SOP development and training.
- Manage financial budgets and targets (OPEX).
- Achieve area KPI targets (e.g. (Overall equipment effectiveness) OEE) and lead improvement projects.
- Support excellence development within the area.
- Ensure team understands and manages area KPIs (e.g., OEE, cost, loss, Pack Quality KPIs).
- Implement Group Packaging standards and initiatives.
- Contribute to daily/weekly Packaging and Maintenance Plans.
- Lead investigations into quality and safety issues and resolve escalated problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical equivalent.
- Managerial experience in a high-speed packaging environment.
- 5 years of production experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or team leader role.
- Proven track record in managing people and plant performance improvements.
- Good understanding of English.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Experience in managing performance and driving continuous improvement.
