Our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and our Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation in Laos are both delivering strong production and cost performances and are targeted to reach peak production over the next few years. In addition, the PanAust Group is progressing well in its Stage 1 Feasibility Study of the newly acquired Frieda River Copper Project in PNG

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.


Reporting to the Occupational Health and Hygiene Supervisor, the Occupational Health and Hygiene Officer’s role is to prevent occupational diseases and illnesses by addressing physical, chemical, and biological health hazards in the workplace. you will be responsible for conducting Occupational Health and Hygiene monitoring activities as per OHH monitoring schedule.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain quality records.
  • Good work attendance.
  • Enthusiasm to learn.
  • Positive communication within team and other departments.
  • Following safety procedures, advising when not able to do so.
  • Conduct all work in safe manner.
  • Complete mandatory safety training in personal matrix.
  • Report all hazards and incidents, fixing hazards where possible.
  • Undertake OHH monitoring in accordance with pre-prepared schedules, under the direction of the OHH supervisor.
  • Carefully obtain required data with full compliance to procedures.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in good working order and calibrated.
  • Record all data in the required electronic or note format.
  • Maintain records of monitoring program
  • Report any defects or problem with instruments.
  • Advise superiors of any obvious OHH issues in the workplaces that are being monitored.
  • Sets daily, weekly, and monthly occupational hygiene routine schedules.
  • Determines the need and assists in the development of occupational hygiene procedures and standards.
  • Promote Occupational Hygiene
  • Advises on changes to plans and schedules to minimise the effect of unexpected or unsafe work practices.
  • Report occupational hygiene incidents and participate in investigations and follow-up actions.
  • All other duties assigned by the Employee’s supervisor appointed by the Company.


To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Degree in Environment Science, Medical, or Related Field. 
  • Some experience working as a nursing officer is desirable.
  • Must have previous work experience in mining industry, hospital, or factory.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience using Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Lao and English
  • Be able to drive & have a light vehicle driving license for B.
