In Laos, PanAust owns a 90 per cent interest in the Lao-registered company, Phu Bia Mining. The Government of Laos owns the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates PanAust Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation.

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.

Reporting to the Mine Geology Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and monitoring a team to make sure the day to day tasks are carried out professionally as plan within safety manner and timeline. You will supervise the geological assistants and ore spotters to carry out effective ore control practices as well as the safe collection of grade control samples from RC drilling and the successful dispatch to the laboratory.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervision of Grade Control drilling and pad construction
  • Ensure the timely set out of ore control mark-up and the accuracy of geological data collected
  • Attend and provide daily ore blending to mill for daily product meeting
  • Collect metallurgical samples, ore control, and supervising ore spotter
  • Ensure the correct ore types are directed to the appropriate crusher
  • Response to production requests and call-outs
  • Undertake geological mapping, clip logging and assist with data entry and computer data management when required

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Degree in Mining, Geology or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experiences in geology and mining industry
  • Current driving licence 
  • Fluent in Lao and English communication skills
  • Good skills in Microsoft Office suite and Surpac System
