We are currently looking for Communications and Campaign Manager (re ad) based in Vientiane Capital
Communications is critical for Save the Children to be able to play its role of making the voices of children heard and achieving breakthroughs that enable children to learn, be healthy, and be protected within their families and communities.
The Communications Manager provides the technical leadership and coordination for internal and external communications for Save the Children International in Lao PDR. Working with the Programme Development and Quality Director and the Heads of Sectors, he/she provides capacity building and technical support to the programme/project teams in developing and implementing policy advocacy and campaigns strategies at sector levels, and takes the lead for organisational campaigns.
He/she is responsible for ensuring up to date and relevant external programme communications with the Lao public and international community through mass media, publications, and other channels. And he/she supports the Operations teams and Awards in ensuring the country office compliance with visibility requirements and plans with donors, SC members, and SCI.
The Communication Manager also provides the main technical support to the Senior Management Team in ensuring a healthy and effective information flow and exchange within the organisation, with our partners, and with SCI and SC Members.
The Communications Manager will ensure that child safeguarding principles are respected and rolled out in all media and communications and that respect the rights, dignity and safety of children we serve and promotes the values that Save the Children upholds.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to support the Country Director and Humanitarian Response Lead in speaking and sharing information on behalf of the organisation, work outside the normal role profile with the response team, and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
KEY AREA OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Create and develop SCI visibility platforms in Laos
Office programme and updates for general public
Lead SCI Lao office campaigns in line with global Save the Children International global
Provide technical support and capacity building for sectoral advocacy and communications work
Lead Country Office compliance with SCI and Donor visibility and communications requirements
