WWF has been working in Laos since the late 1980s in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Our country programme office was first established in Vientiane in 2001. Since then, our team has grown to over 40 Lao, international and volunteer staff working on over 10 projects countrywide with offices in Vientiane, Champassak, Salavan and Sekong provinces.

WWF’s vision for Laos is that the human footprint stays within the country’s capacity to maintain the full spectrum of biological diversity and ecosystems, and the key services they provide, to enhance Lao people’s livelihood resilience and contribute to the sustainable conservation of the overall ecological integrity of the Greater Mekong Region.

WWF Laos is now looking for an experienced Lao National to fill the position of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator based in Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR.

What does the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator do?

The M&E Coordinator is an exciting and inspiring position, essential in ensuring WWF Laos delivers quality conservation impact. He/she reports to the Conservation Director and is responsible for the effective development and management of WWF-Laos’ M&E system in accordance with the current Country Strategic Plan. He/she ensures the effective delivery of all relevant M&E products, from project and programme levels to the Country Office level. Key specific responsibilities include:

  • Support Project Managers in maintaining and completing project monitoring tools;
  • Proactively support Project Managers in completing their monitoring and evaluation commitments;
  • Maintain the WWF International database system, INSIGHT, with input from WWF Laos Country Office related to both the conservation programme and the various operations departments;
  • Lead the consolidation of data needed for WWF Laos’ contribution to the yearly Network Performance Overview (NPO);

Desired profile of applicants:

  • Bachelor’s degree in monitoring and evaluation or in relevant fields.
  • At least 3 years of practical experience in designing and/or managing information management systems;
  • Systematic thinking, good human relations and coordination skills, including working in virtual teams; 
  • Excellent organizational skills and self-motivation;
  • Striving to develop a sense of team with colleagues;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Lao and English languages;
