We are currently looking for Data Collection Officer based in Savannakhet
Save the Children is starting five-year early grade reading project as part of LEAPS II, a school feeding programme implemented in 6 districts of Savanakhet province managed by a third-party organization, CRS. The goal of this project is to enhance how early grades students learn how to read by training teachers and promoting literacy in their communities.
The Data Collection Officer is supporting the MEAL and Training Manager (MTM) to establish a functional MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) system at the project site level and another is capacity building of the field staff and counterparts on different components of the project. S/he will measure, track and ensure the quality of all Save the Children interventions within the LEAPS II project which he will work to ensure that all children within target schools are on track to read grade level texts by the end of their second grade and that all Save the Children’s responsibilities (e.g. establishing libraries, mobilizing communities for reading) are done at the highest level of quality and Data Collection Officer will be responsible for collection and compilation of all literacy monitoring data with staff support for tablet use and basic IT.
Additionally, the Data Collection Officer is supporting the MTM on report writing and in any monitoring and evaluation tasks.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
KEY AREA OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Ensure they fully understand the provisions of the Child Safeguarding Policy, the Code of Conduct and Local/Country Procedures.
Conduct themselves in accordance with the rules of the Child Safeguarding Policy, in their personal and professional lives – which includes reporting suspicions of child abuse.
Routinely conduct field trips to program sites for collecting data. She/he is expected to travel at least two times per month
Ensure accurate and consistent entry of data received from project staffs and partners into database.
Assist the MEAL and Training Manager in performing data analysis and producing statistical and graphic reports.
Ensuring the logistics of books and monitoring of materials in program sites
Ensure project officer work plan and tracing activity record will be gathering and update according project activity.

Experience and Skills
At least 2 years experience in an INGO, UN or relevant development business is an advantage and data entry, Data analysis and database management
