This is an exciting time to join PanAust and our subsidiary company, Phu Bia Mining in Laos. Our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and our Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation in Laos are both delivering strong production and cost performances and are targeted to reach peak production over the next few years. In addition, the PanAust Group is progressing well in its Stage 1 Feasibility Study of the newly acquired Frieda River Copper Project in PNG.

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.

Reporting to the Process Manager, you will be responsible for managing a large processing team across multiple work areas including the crusher, day works and tailings system. You will also be responsible for process production when the Process Production Superintendent is on break.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Display visible leadership for health, safety and the environment by actively participating in JSO’s, PTO’s, WPI’s, Safety Standard Audits, Housekeeping Audits and Safety Meetings
  • Ensure focus placed on training and development of the day services workforce through development, implementation and tracking of the training and development plan and the use of the Skills Matrices by supervisors
  • Ensure all operational requirements in relation to availability for maintenance of equipment are met without unnecessary delay
  • Maximise operational utilisation of the crushing circuit through close collaboration with mine production, drill and blast and mine geology superintendents and fixed plant maintenance resources
  • Ensure the tailings storage facility is operated as per design in terms of tailings deposition floating deposition changes, tailings line upgrades and TSF boat maintenance.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Qualification in a related field
  • Proven working experience in processing plant, ideally within mining, chemical and/or cement industry
  • Track record of effectively managing teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to juggle numerous tasks or projects at once
