TSF Construction Supervisor

This is an exciting time to join PanAust and our subsidiary company, Phu Bia Mining in Laos. Our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and our Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation in Laos are both delivering strong production and cost performances and are targeted to reach peak production over the next few years. In addition, the PanAust Group is progressing well in its Stage 1 Feasibility Study of the newly acquired Frieda River Copper Project in PNG.

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.

Reporting to the TSF Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for the earthworks and construction at the BHX TSF and Spillway.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that records are filed in accordance with the relevant filing system
  • Ensure contractor use is within budget
  • Responsible for ensuring contractor equipment and production performance is to a level to support TSF construction.
  • Advising the TSF superintendent of any contractor equipment or personnel issues to allow timely management
  • Identify contractors variations and instigate documentation to the TSF Superintendent
  • Ensure contractors are aligned to construction targets and specifications
  • TSF and Spillway construction within budget
  • Support earthworks for TSF Weir and develop Zone A borrow pits to a design
  • Support construction of coffer dam for weir lift
  • Look for improved ways to manage equipment and processes as part of ongoing continuous improvement focus

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Degree qualification in an appropriate field (Civil Engineering or similar) highly regarded but not essential.
  • 5 years’ Experience in tailings construction and associated road work
  • Experience in supervising and strong leading large team
  • Unwavering safety focus with experience in safety management on civil construction worksites
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong cultural awareness
