VACANCY ANNOUCEMENT FOR

PROJECT OFFICER

German-Lao Association Objectives

  • To develop a partnership for development between Germany and Laos for grass root participative development initiatives
  • To strengthen the capacity of communities through identifying and addressing their needs whilst emphasizing the Millennium Development Goals (poverty eradication, water, education, gender equality and health)
  • To strengthen the capacity of Government counterparts and NPA staff members involved in rural community development through designated trainings and study tours
  • To promote cultural exchange activities between Germany and Laos

GLAD is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Lao national who is flexible, effective team worker and can demonstrate the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

Post title: Project Officer

Duty station: Sekong Province

Responsible for overall project implementation and ensure the project objectives and it set indicators are met within timeline and budget

Keys duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing project planning /reporting (Monthly, Quarterly and Annual)
  • Manage project activities budget
  • Provide support to project targets on household business activities
  • Facilitate networking among household business in the project area
  • Coordinate workshop, training and meeting concerning project activities
  • Monitor project activities and report irregular matter for discussion and find solution
  • Coordinate with government partner in district and village levels concerning project activities
  • Support to organize Project Steering Committee meeting and it concern activities
  • Support on organizational strategy development
  • Ensure good teamwork among project team
  • Ensure projects comply with local authority regulation
  • Line manage Project Assistant and Village Advisors

Qualifications and experience:

  • University degree, preferably in the field of business and education or another relevant field
  • Minimum three years of working experience in development projects, preferable vocational education.  
  • Experience from working in an international organisation and in a multi-cultural office environment preferable
  • South base applications are most welcome
