This is an exciting time to join PanAust and our subsidiary company, Phu Bia Mining in Laos. Our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation and our Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation in Laos are both delivering strong production and cost performances and are targeted to reach peak production over the next few years. In addition, the PanAust Group is progressing well in its Stage 1 Feasibility Study of the newly acquired Frieda River Copper Project in PNG.

Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off.

Reporting to the E & I Maintenance Supervisor, you will focus on the safe work practices, follow all site safety procedures and policies. Mechanical repairs of all Plant Equipment. 100% completion of all scheduled PM inspections work order information filled correctly. Reporting all incidents and accidents. Reporting all equipment problems and issues found on PM inspections. Work with others from every department teamwork. Perform task housekeeping on every task and allocated areas for 5S. Tool management returning tools same day to tool store keeping tools clean and serviceable zero loss of tool. Being flexible for shutdown periods able to adjust roster breaks to suit required shutdowns. Time management reporting for duty on time daily manage lunch breaks to allotted time. All leave breaks must be approved before taking. All sick offs to have Doctor Certificates. Plan each task and be Job Ready for all tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Task completion 100% scheduled and unscheduled
  • Zero loss of company materials parts and tooling
  • Housekeeping 5S areas and maintaining clean work place and equipment areas
  • Good attendance and leave management. Ensure you arrive at work on time, back from R&R at the required date and time back from meal breaks on time and provide a doctors certificate stating their inability to attend work if not at work
  • Enthusiasm and ability to be open to learn from peers and keep updated with new procedures that may improve yourself or your team
  • Team work ability to willing work unsupervised as well as willing working with all departments without negative feedback

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Degree in Industrial Electricity or related fields
  • Must have previous working experience        
  • Communication skills for both in English and Lao
  • Competency in Microsoft office
  • Strong motivation to work
