Accounting Officer JOB VACANCY Accounting Officer The Regional Economic Integration of Laos in to ASEAN, Trade and Entrepreneurship Development (RELATED) is part of the Lao-German Development Cooperation and commissioned by German Development Cooperation, implemented through GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) is currently seeking one qualified Laotian candidate for the position of Accounting Officer. Starting Date: As soon as possible Duration of Assignment: April 30th 2019, with possibility of extensionWork Locations: Vientiane Capital Responsibilities The Accounting Officer is responsible for: Accounting and Bookkeeping within the RELATED project Financial Management of the RELATED project Assistance to the Procurement of the RELATED project Check of the Vehicle Logbooks of the RELATED project Travel Advance Calculations and Settlement of Travel Advances Main tasks: The Accounting Officer is responsible for: Manage and monitor the monthly accounting and finance plans Take responsibility for financial management, such as cash withdrawals, keeping the cashbook, bank accounts, preparing and booking vouchers Realise the accounting and bookkeeping of the RELATED project Take responsibility for the fund request management (checking requests for funds/activities before release) Check and pay invoices of the RELATED project Correct booking errors and follow-up clear advance payments regularly Correct findings of the regular internal audits Check monthly the journals of the RELATED project Assist in the procurement of services, equipment, goods and consumables in accordance to GIZ orientation and rules Set up and maintain the inventory and consumables list File finance and inventory related documents Check the completeness of the documents in the context of local subsides Check the vehicle logbooks of the project Check and calculate the private uses of project cars and mobile phones and follow up the reimbursement for the RELATED Project Verify budget estimations for events Provide logistical preparation of events Prepare cash advances for business trips and settlements of travel costs for National Personal and Counterparts in accordance with GIZ travel regulations Prepare cash advances and settlement of costs for activities Undertake similar tasks as required by the superior Required qualifications, competences and experience Qualifications College or University Degree in Business Administration, Bookkeeping and Accounting or related fields Professional experience At least 3-5 years of professional work experience in a similar position Other knowledge, additional competences Very good working knowledge of office computer software including MS Office, Outlook Very good English language skills, knowledge of German language would be an asset In-depth knowledge of accounting software Confidential handling of data and information Willingness to upskill capacities as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management GIZ is an equal opportunity employer.
