Plan offers competitive salaries and long-term employment opportunities for all posts. School Coordinator (base in PhaOudom District, Bokeo Province) Contract until 30th November 2019  Responsibilities will include Work with the Gender Equality for Secondary Schools (GESS) project team members and District Education and Sports Bureau (DESB) official to develop a monthly-work plan and budgetCoordinate with the target schools and communities to develop activity plans in schoolsWork with selected construction companies to undertake effective construction of school dormitories and associated facilities in target locationsEnsure that the community fully participates in and contributes to the school initiatives including construction monitoringConduct monitoring and support implementation of End-of project evaluationConduct post-training-follow up and monitoring on facility management and maintenance, gender training and child-club activitiesProvide timely monthly work plan and reports on activities and expenditures in district level to the GESS Project ManagerPrepare government report on a quarterly basisTranslate documents from Lao to English or vice versa. Skills, qualifications, experienceDiploma/degree in relevant field, preferably related to Gender, Education, Project Management or Development StudiesA minimum two year experience of working directly with communities and schools for community development projects in remote and rural areasGood interpersonal, communication and facilitation skillsAble to travelling, working and staying in remote rural communities as necessaryProficiency in written and spoken English languagesGood computer skills (including Word and Excel) essentialBehavioursPromotes cooperation with other work units including Partners and CommunitiesIs open to feedback and willing to try new approaches and processesIs confident of own ability to accomplish goalsCorrect and quick decision makingSpeaks clearly and can easily understandAbility to manage own time and to set and meet priorities and deadlines without close supervision essentialWorks collaboratively as a team player, listens actively and values contributionsSelf-management and personal accountabilityAbility to work effectively as member of a team essentialHonest and TransparentFOR ALL PLAN POSITIONS:Strong commitment to the equal rights and participation of girls and women is essentialStrong commitment to the Rights of the Child is essentialPlan does not tolerate child abuse. Plan offers competitive salaries and long-term employment opportunities for all posts.Head of Education and Skills Program, Based in Vientiane Capital with frequent travel to remote provinces and districts (up to 30-40%).Duties and responsibilities:Lead the education program team in delivering activities, on giving input on technical components and ensuring strong linkage with the other program sectors.Set education related programme agenda in coordination with the DCD-P, (including national policy level); identifying, documenting and sharing best practices in the field, ensuring that research components contribute to national and international evidence base.Line Manager to Provincial managers and Education team in Vientiane Capital Manage the relationship with national level government counterparts, and supervises and supports Provincial Managers in their relationships with partners.Build the capacity of counterparts through provision of technical advice.Represent Plan in the Education Sector Working Group (ESWG), Skills, Livelihood and other groups.Manage education team, including coaching and guiding managers, and ensure that project budgets and work plans are followed.Develop proposals for program funding where necessary in coordination with program and finance staff.Manage external consultants as needed. Requirements:Postgraduate degree in Education, including training in different research methodologiesDemonstrated understanding of the TVET sector and or entrepreneurship developmentAt least eight years experience in program management or leadership role in the education sectorAt least 2 year’s experience in working with remote, ethnic groups in LaosExcellent written and spoken English and Lao language skills, fluency in an ethnic language an advantageExcellent knowledge of Government of Lao PDR education and TVET policies and strategies, FOR ALL PLAN POSITIONS:Strong commitment to the equal rights and participation of girls and women is essentialStrong commitment to the Rights of the Child is essentialPlan does not tolerate child abuse.
