From 2012 – 2016, LEAPS I served nearly 16,000,000 meals and increased student attendance by 38%. Working closely with the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES), LEAPS II will continue to improve literacy of 40,000 school-age children in Lao PDR in 350 schools across seven districts of Savannakhet Province (Atsaphone, Outoumphone, Phalanxaye, Phin, Vilabouly, Sepon, and Nong). LEAPS II activities fall into four main categories: school meals, WASH, literacy, and inclusive education.Job Summary: You will assist programming field activities by working directly with community members and Government of Lao PDR (GOL) staff in support of Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work to serve the poor and vulnerable. Your service and community interpersonal skills contribute to projects that benefit local communities that consistently applies best practices and continuously works towards improving its impact.Job Responsibilities: Support programming activities at the field level adhering to defined implementation schedules and report as required. Contribute to ensuring accountability to project beneficiaries and local stakeholders. Support the monitoring of project activities at the field level, per the M&E plan through collection of data.  Support community mobilization efforts through regular visits to project sites, coaching, and communication and information sharing with project beneficiaries at the community level.  In coordination with the project team, support capacity building events or other project activities for community members, including volunteers, and/or teaching staff.  Typical Background, Experience & Requirements:Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or a related field. You will ensure the safety and security of all passengers, pedestrians, other drivers and the vehicles in town and on field missions. Your consistent and high-quality service will contribute to the proper stewardship of resources.Job Responsibilities: Take actions as instructed to maintain allocated vehicles clean inside and out, in sound mechanical and operational condition, fueled and equipped with First Aid Kits, spare parts and tools, and secured at all times. Signal actual or potential faults/breakdowns and/or threats. Transport CRS staff and visitors as instructed, observing local traffic and road safety laws and all CRS vehicle policies to ensure safety of passengers and luggage, and quality and courteous services. Report immediately any accidents and/or route changes due to security, bad weather, road conditions. Plan ahead to meet anticipated travel requirements and make all arrangements for ensuring efficient services (fueling, pre-travel checks, required travel documents, required equipment, spare parts and tools, schedules, packing). Ensure copies of daily mileage logs, pen and clipboard are readily available in all assigned vehicles.  Maintain and submit accurate records for all trips and fuel purchases. Routinely check all assigned vehicles licenses, insurances, and other required documents and promptly advise when renewals are due.
