  • Advocacy Focal Person Job OpportunitySOS Children’s Villages Laos is the umbrella organization for the global federation of SOS Children’s Villages. As a non-governmental social development organization we support children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and emergency relief, and we advocate for the rights of children and young people, in alliance with a great diversity of partners. We work in 135 countries and territories, reaching over one million children, young people, families and caregivers each year. To support us with this important role we are now looking for a committed colleagues as below: 1. Advocacy focal person – 1 position          Work Location: National Office, Vientiane Capital  Key Responsibilities:Coordinates and act as a point of contact for work on global advocacy projects at national level.                Act as an effective representative for the country while exchange with relevant NGOs, government bodies and other stakeholders with an objective to raise visibility for the organisation and advocate the SOSCV as an effective model of child care.As the country representative in the global function network, brings-in regional view and proactively advocates the regional interests.Represents, promote and advocate the organisation’s key messages through regional/international networks and meet with governmental and like-minded non-governmental organisations to ensure child friendly policies.Build profesional relationships with relevant NGO and partners, including through NGO working groups/coalitions and exchange meetings that enhance organisation advocacy impact.Supports National Associations for effective advocacy with training, coaching and guidance on advocacy.Support the Director Programme on socio-economic context in relation to advocacy work in the region.In cooperation with advocacy co-workers at programme levels, identifies crucial child rights issues relevant for the region.Works in close coordination with IOR and other functions for advocacy related deliverables.Provide support in brand compliance and communication wherever necessary.Abide the provisions of the Code of Conduct and Child protection policy.Implement any and all works as assigned by Supervisor or National DirectorQualification & Experience:Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Social Science or development related subjects.Should have minimum experience of 3-4 years or more in the area of training and alternative family based care programmes for children without parental care.Knowledge of program planning, execution and implementation.Knowledge of Development issues especially concerning children and child rights.Knowledge of UNCRC and socio-cultural systems.If you are interested in the positions, please send your detailed e-mail application: cover letter and CV by 10 May 2019 at the latest to the e-mail address below.
