For more information, please visit: http://www.clintonhealthaccess.orgCHAI Lao PDR Program Overview Supported by the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), CHAI is working with the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Lao PDR to support the National Immunization Program (NIP) in two areas:Gavi transition - CHAI is supporting the NIP to fully transition from GAVI funding by 2022 through:Developing and piloting a standardized assessment tool to evaluate district-level performance in planning, implementation and financial management of immunization activities;Building provincial and central level capacity to identify root causes of performance gaps and bottlenecks and plan targeted interventions to address them; andEvaluation of key financial challenges and programmatic implications posed by decreased Gavi funding over the next four years, including identification of strategic tradeoffs, synergies and/or efficiencies with other immunization or health program activitiesStrengthen supply chain management for vaccines, specifically through:Improve the performance of the Lao supply chain for vaccines addressing the stock out and performance management issues;Support the country to navigate the supply chain consequences of GAVI transition- identifying options that are effective, sustainable and scalable; andPotentially pilot and scale up a provincial integrated distribution model together with central and provincial level stakeholders.All activities will be conducted in close collaboration with NIP and relevant Ministry of Health (MOH) staff in order to build capacity and ensure sustainability and scalability of the activities.Summary of Position:CHAI is seeking two highly-motivated individuals with experience working in client-facing positions and strong planning, coordination and communication skills to work as Program Officers with the CHAI Lao PDR Vaccines Program, one with a focus on Financial Management and Planning, the other with a focus on supply chain strengthening. Both roles include supporting the development of materials, planning and facilitation of assessments, trainings, capacity building, and other support as needed.   • Project Coordinators Project Coordinators, TB – Lao PDR  Central Project Coordinator – VientianeProvincial Project Coordinator – PakseOverview and Summary of PositionsThe National Tuberculosis Centre (NTC) has been implementing national strategies to improve case finding, increase the case detection rate (CDR) and reduce incidence of, and mortality due to TB. To continue building upon these efforts, the NTC is launching a comprehensive case-finding pilot, and is seeking project coordinators at the central and provincial level to support successful implementation.The NTC is seeking highly entrepreneurial individuals with outstanding project management, operational, and communication skills. A background in TB clinical and/or health programmatic operations is an advantage. The central project coordinator will oversee the provincial project coordinator, to build capacity and ensure successful implementation of district-level TB case finding activities. The provincial project coordinator will support existing TB staff such as the district TB managers, to strengthen case finding activities. Technical activities within the pilot include facility staff trainings, supportive monitoring and supervision, data analysis and mapping, as well as oversight over active case finding campaigns, routine contact tracing, and a sputum transport network. Project coordinators will also support financial and administrative duties, draft and present key findings to senior management staff at the NTC and subnational authorities, and build strong relationships with all stakeholders. A self-motivated individual with experience implementing health programming would be a strong candidate. The ability to problem solve and communicate effectively in complex environments will be essential.  For the central project coordinator, a demonstrated application of management skills is an advantage.The central project coordinator will be based in Vientiane, Lao PDR, and will be hired for a 6-month contract. They will be embedded at the NTC, and will be required to travel to pilot sites up to 70% of the time. The provincial project coordinator will be based in Pakse, and will be hired for a 6-month contract. They will be required to travel to health centers up to 70% of the time.
