  • Legal Advisor VACCANCY FOR LAO NATIONALVillage Focus International (VFI) is an INGO working in the Lao PDR since 2001. We are looking to fill the positions of Project Manager and Legal Advisor under the VFI’s Protection and Empowerment of Women and Children program. This program is including centers for assisting victims of trafficking, vulnerable young people which included vocational training, job opportunities, policy advocacy and also outreach awareness raising component to prevent trafficking. This position will be based in Vientiane Capital City but will often travel to provinces.The Project Manager: a key staff for managing the project. Working with the project staff, government counterparts, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain cooperation agreements and coordination mechanisms, develop management and working routines for the project, overseeing the implementation of the project activities, provide technical assisting and coaching the project staff, develop project plan and report in both English and Lao language, networking with other key stakeholders both inside and outside the countries, assisting with fundraising, donor communication, and programme promotionLegal Advisor: a key staff member of the Protection and Empowerment of Women and Children and directly supervised by the PEWC program manger.  He/She works closely with legal Officer and other key staff members of the PEWC staff. This position requires understanding of HT and Migration issues, with focus on legal policy and training, along with well-developed skills, motivation and initiative, and includes both outcomes-based achievement and networking within and among the legal community in Laos, both governmental and non-governmental organizations. Qualifications and ExperiencesLao citizenA minimum of 5 years of professional experiencesBachelor Degree of Law or related fieldDetailed understanding of trafficking, CRC, CEDEW and related issuesAbility to communicate effectively with staff and especially trafficking victimsBe cheerful, open minded and willing to work and dial with the trafficking victimsMust have good English language and writing skills.Ability to develop activity reports in Lao and EnglishExperience working with trafficking cases will be highly regarded considerationInterested candidates must supply an introduction letter and CV toKongseng Sirivath, Program Coordinator of PEWC at kongseng@villagefocus.org.Call 021 312519 or 350740, no later than 20/12/2019.www.villagefocus.org
