Senior Technical LeaderSenior Technical LeaderNirasXam Neua, Huaphan ProvinceIntroductionNiras is providing technical assistance to the Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture Project (NUSAP). The project is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) and funded by EU and AFD. It seeks to promote improved nutrition in villages of Luang Prabang, Luang Namtha, Phongsaly and Huaphan provinces through the application of improved agricultural techniques, supported by small grants and presentations in villages to raise awareness of the link between agriculture and good nutrition. Families with children under the age of two years are particularly targeted. Niras is currently seeking a Senior Technical Leader to work with NUSAP.Job descriptionHe/she will:be responsible for supporting project implementation at provincial and district levels.provide technical support and mentoring/capacity-building to PAFO and DAFO staff who are responsible for project implementation.support DAFO staff to raise awareness of agriculture and nutrition issues in target villages.support DAFO staff to facilitate the development and monitoring of village nutrition-sensitive agriculture plans.support DAFO staff to evaluate grant applications and arrange disbursement of grants.support DAFO staff facilitate the implementation of grant-funded activities with farmers and the maintenance of records of achievements.The position is full time, initially for one year, but renewable. It is expected to be based in Xam Neua, Huaphan Province.Qualifications and experience requiredCandidates should hold at least a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related discipline, have at least ten years’ experience working with local level agricultural services, either with government or an NGO.
