We also love playing in nature and our environments are fun places where we explore, discover and learn together.About the RoleThe Preschool Lead Teacher plans, delivers and leads learning activities to encourage creativity, to foster academic growth and to nurture the little learners. The role is for him/her who loves children and the learning process, who has equal parts of enthusiasm and patience, and who feels right at home with paint on his/her fingers and a storybook in his/her hands. The ideal candidate needs to have a good understanding of the Reggio Emilia learning philosophy.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Preschool Lead Teacher’s key responsibilities are as follows:Developing a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children.Documenting daily observations of the children’s progress and pinpoints areas of improvement.Maintaining and scheduling weekly and monthly activities, which include online newsletters to parents.Recording an observation of children’s interests so activities can target what they need in an exciting way.Maintaining a class Seesaw blog page.Assisting children with activities of daily life such as toilet training, hand washing.Ensuring that all children are supervised at all times.Integrating special needs children in a positive and respectful manner.Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children.Supervising the teacher assistants in the classroom and ensuring that they are following program policy.Training any teacher assistants and directing them as to what duties need to be carried out throughout the day.Providing a classroom environment that encourages parent participation.Conducting child assessments and facilitating parent-teacher meetings.Communicating with parents and discussing their children’s development.Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service.Holding parent/caregiver’s education workshop as required.Attending and engaging in occasional parent participation events that may be on nights and/or weekends.Contributing to children learning, growth, and advancement.The Preschool Lead Teacher may need to complete tasks other than those listed above, as delegated by the Principal.The Person Needs:To have a heart of a preschool teacher.To display a passion for developing preschool-age appropriate educational activities and practice.To be a positive role model for all care giving staff and children.To possess a strong work ethic and be punctual.Basic technological knowledge such as using Seesaw application.Ability to communicate effectively with parents.To be customer service orientated and professional.Capacity to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff and parents/caregivers.Willingness to actively participate in training programs provided by the school.Willingness to address challenges in a positive manner.To pass a Police Check.A flexible attitude towards the role.Preferred QualificationBachelor degree or higher in early childhood education or related fields.
