  • MEDIA TRAINING CONSULTANCY Call for Expressions of Interest: Training ConsultancyThe BEQUAL program supports the education priorities of the Government of Laos described in the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) Education and Sports Sector Development Plan and is aligned with the strategic directions set out in Australia’s Education Delivery Strategy. Phase 1 has been extended until June 2022 and BEQUAL will continue to support MoES with the primary curriculum reform with a focus on primary curriculum development, teacher professional development and integration of inclusive education principles.The BEQUAL program intends to engage a Media Training Consultant to design and deliver a series of capacity development interventions that build the participants’ skills in filming and editing using commercially available software such as Adobe Premiere Pro. The Media Training Consultant will work with the BEQUAL communications team and in partnership with the Research Institute for Education Sciences to deliver the following services:Conduct a training needs assessment for up to 15 participants.Design a training plan and training session contents, incorporating a variety of training session methodologies for the purpose of developing participants’ skills in filming and editing videos.Conduct the training sessions over an appropriate period of time that ensures participants have enough time to practice their new skills in between training sessions. Training sessions must be scheduled within official government working hours and the training organisation must be able to meet current COVID-19 precautions in line with Government of Lao COVID-19 Taskforce regulations.Ensure the designed training plan uses commercially available software that is already used by RIES, preferably Adobe Premiere ProEligible CriteriaA relevant qualification in film and video production or equivalent professional experience.Demonstrated experience filming and editing videos using Adobe software.A diverse portfolio of video and/or film production.Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops based on adult education principles.Demonstrated experience in training and coaching adults.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working in a diverse team.Demonstrated experience in addressing gender equality, disability, social inclusion and child protection in film and/or video production.Demonstrated experience working with development programs, NGOs, local community organisations.Knowledge of the Lao education sector.Proven problem-solving skills.Must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision.Good language skills (oral and written) in both Lao and English.Commitment to the principles of gender equality and inclusion, child protection and safeguarding, and doing no harm to the communities with which we work.Expressions of Interest are to be sent to procurement@bequal-laos.org clearly marked EOI Training Consultancy by 16:00 on Friday 5 March 2021 and must include:A 3 page CV.Name, phone number and email address for 3 references.A Portfolio that shows examples of video filming and editing AND previous experience in developing and delivering training programs.A draft workplan that demonstrates how the consultant will complete the whole assignment within the period March – June 2021.Only shortlisted consultants will be contacted for interview.Tetra Tech International Development is an equal opportunity employer of choice and is committed to protecting the rights of children and improving the livelihoods of the world’s most marginalised groups.
